We been in existence since 1989. The group shared a common goal: to establish a centrally located museum to house and display miniature works and collections for people of all ages to enjoy. Cultural and educational aspects were then, and are today, foremost in the hearts of our members.

In 2000, a building was purchased, renovated and the museum opened in 2001. Various fundraising events are held throughout the year with the most important being the Gateway Miniature Fair Show and Sale sponsored by the Museum in April and October. Dealers from all over the country come to sell and conduct workshops.

The museum houses a 2-story miniature shopping, a replica of the St. Louis IX Basilica, an Egyptian Tomb, and old-time saloon, a Santa's summer house, a Georgian apartment building, several dollhouses, vignettes and room boxes. Several artisan cases highlight furniture, porcelain, silver, dolls, flowers, and more. Seasonal and special exhibits showcased regularly.

The Museum has nearly 300 members and is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. Members received free admission to the museum, invitations to special events, access to the library, access to the library, and a subscription to the quarterly newsletter.
